These are the faces of the ladies and a little about them
Sally
Owner
Sally took over ownership of the setting in December 2023 after being chairperson of the committee since 2016.
Sally is NNEB qualified back in 2000, and worked as a Nanny in a home and abroad for a holiday company. Sally is also a Registered General nurse and has been since 2005. Alongside her nursing role she can be found spending time in both Twiglets and Blossoms. Since taking over ownership she has completed multiple training courses and local authority training ensuring that childcare practice is relevant and up to date.
‘I have always wanted to continue my childcare journey ever since completing my NNEB qualification, after having my own daughter my passion re-grew, I became chairperson of the setting and have never looked back. I still work as a nurse alongside my days at The Learning Tree, and love the journey that myself and the team are taking, and I am very proud of all we have achieved’.
Bonnie
Manager
Bonnie is our Manager and joined the team in 2021 as a Practitioner and became the manager in 2022.
Bonnie is level 3 qualified, and started her journey in childcare in 2004, working in various roles giving her vast experience and knowledge that is valuable to our setting, Bonnie is constantly updating her professional development with courses and local training, helping to provide all children with a fun, loving and happy learning environment.
‘I am a fun happy person, who loves animals and camping trips with my children , sister and nephew. Family is one of the most important things in my life and I enjoy spending time with them. Myself and children love visiting new places and going on adventures with our dog Yaz’.
Michelle
Deputy Manager
Michelle is our Deputy Manager, she joined the team as a pactitioner in 2021, and then became our Deputy in 2022.
Michelle is Level 5 qualified with over 15 years experience working in early years, throughout this time she has had various roles from room leader, senior nursery nurse, deputy manager and manager. Michelle can be found in the Twiglets 0-2 room during ‘term time’.
‘I took a 4 year break from childcare in 2013 to provide medical care to my oldest child. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, making memories with my children and partner. I also like spedning time at our caravan in Cleethorpes with my mum’.
Lauren
Practitioner
Lauren is a practitioner who joined the team in 2019.
Lauren is level 5 qualified in childcare and been working in settings since 2012. Lauren works ‘term time’ only within our Blossoms preschool room. Lauren is also our Health and Safety Coordinator.
‘I live with my partner, my three children, cat and dog. In my spare time I enjoy going on days out to parks, farms and the zoo with my family and spending time with friends.'
Jody
Practitioner
Jody is a practitioner that joined the team in 2022.
Jody has a Level 3 in Childcare and Education. Jody is our Special Educational Needs Care Coordinator. Jody works in Blossoms, loves messy play and especially glitter!
‘I live with my son Jake, we love going for walks and exploring the outdoors together, especially forests, castles and theme parks. We spend lots of time with our extended family too. I love all things Harry Potter and enjoy reading. I spent 10 years working in childcare, before spending 9 years as a stay at home mum caring for my eldest son, Tyler who was severely disabled and needed 24 hour care. He also loved being outdoors and was especially fond of Normanby Park. Tyler is the reason I am so passionate about my role of SENCO and providing the absolute best for the children at our setting’.
Shannon
Practitioner
Shannon joined the team in September 2024.
Shannon is level 3 qualified and has recently come back into childcare after a short break, with 4 years’ experience prior to that. Shannon loves undertaking new courses and learning new things that she can bring back to the team and help improve her practice, with a passion to learn new languages.
‘I love spending time with my family and friends, creating new memories and just having fun. I like to sit and read a book and watch tv while relaxing at home. I am animal obsessed and because of this I have 4 rescue cats, Luna, Nova, Cosmo and Comet’.
Rachel
Practitioner
Rachel is the newest member of the team who joined us in October 2024.
Rachel has worked in early years for over 10 years and has a keen interest in supporting SEND. Rachel works all year round and can be found in Twiglets.
Rachel has a level 3 Early Years Educator qualification, level 3 SENCO, FdA Supporting Children with SEND, and currently studying for her Ba Hons in Early Childhood.
Joan
Cleaner
Joan joined the team in 2023 as our cleaner.
Joan is a valuable member of the team and not only does our cleaning, but she also often comes and spends time with the children reading stories, playing games and is often found joining in with imaginative play.
