Our Story
The Learning Tree was formally known as Priory Lane Preschool which was committee run and based in the old Community Centre on Priory Lane which has now been converted into flats and shops.
In 2017 we moved into Manor Farm Childrens Centre and began our new adventure. After several years of continuing business as usual and overcoming the battle with Covid-19, we found keeping a committee increasingly difficult so Sally as chairperson made the decision to make her long time dream come true and made the decision to take over The Learning Tree as a limited company and become owner/director. After some more training and upskilling, she was succesful in passing the Ofsted Registration Process, and The Learning Tree officially became what it is today on 22/12/2023.
Since taking over as owner the setting has come full circle with refurbishment internally and externally and the creation of a baby room specifically for 0-2 year olds, and the extension of hours and offering term time only, and all year round care.The journey to where we are now has been a little bumpy, but as a team we have created an environment that is homely and welcoming for all our children and parents, priding ourselves on the relationships we have built with the local authority and local community.
The Learning Tree may be a limited company, but we are very much a family and work closely to know the children and parents who attend our setting, working closely to help nurture our childrens minds and help them develop in a safe and secure environment.
Due to reregistering with Ofsted as a Limited company we start our journey as a new one, which means that we currently awaiting our first Ofsted Inspection which will take place within 30 months of the initial registration process (Dec 2023). This means that there is no previous inspection reports available for The Learning Tree.
